Springfield Illinois is such a unique city, filled with amazing communities and small businesses, and SO much history. With that history comes so many amazing and beautiful buildings throughout. Over the years there are a number of wedding vendors that have taken over many of these building. This has resulted in so many cool and unique wedding venues throughout the city of Springfield. Though there might be a little bias with me being a wedding photographer, these Springfield wedding venues have become some of my favorite parts of town. Though there are SO many amazing intimate wedding venues scattered throughout the Springfield area, I was able to narrow down my favorites into a list of my top five intimate wedding venues in Springfield Illinois.

Venue 1929

This historic, private events venue in Springfield Illinois is known for its’ beautiful exposed wood beams and intimately styled space.  The venue has a 150 person max capacity, and with a centralized location in downtown Springfield there are so many beautiful spaces to house your guests. The venue’s centralized location also makes it easy for your guests to explore the downtown of Springfield, so they can make an entire weekend of your intimate wedding date if they’d like! Venue 1929 is a blank slate making it a great option for couples looking to really make their space their own for their wedding day.

Arlington’s

This modern and intimate wedding venue in Springfield Illinois is a fairly popular venue located on the northside of downtown.  The top Floor can hold up to 140 seated guests, and for more intimate events their bottom floor venue can hold up to 70 people seated.  The building itself was built in 1917 and though newly renovated, still showcases so much history from the buildings past 100 years of existing.  This combination created a wedding venue with a completely unique feeling to it, and with its different options for different sized weddings, it’s the perfect space for your intimate wedding day.

Dana Thomas House

The Dana Thomas House was designed in 1902 by Frank Lloyd Wright for Susan Lawrence Dana.  The building contains the largest collection of site specific art glass and furniture also designed by Wright.  Though there aren’t many details or images on the web for hosting a wedding at the Dana Thomas house, you can schedule a meeting with their event coordinator through their rental page on their website. The Dana Thomas House offers a truly one of a kind intimate wedding day experience in Springfield for those looking to surround themselves in breathtaking architecture and history.

The Pasfield House

The indoor events space at The Pasfield House can hold up to 60 guests seated, while the outdoor space can hold up to 200 guests. The Pasfield house also had a parlor and a library perfect for putting on the final touches with your wedding party prior to your intimate wedding or for taking newlywed portraits. They have an on-sight personal chef who can cater your wedding day meal. The Pasfield House is also a boutique hotel. You can and your guests can stay the night in one of their charming rooms; each has a jacuzzi tub! The Pasfield house’s multiple spaces and gorgeous backdrops, both indoor and outdoor, make it a venue that’s hard to pass up for your intimate wedding day in Springfield!

The Merchant House

Located in the heart of downtown Springfield, the Merchant House has the perfect blend of modern details mixed with eclectic vintage elements for your intimate wedding day.  This space is perfect for both intimate and large scale celebrations.  The intimate wedding space has a beautiful homey setup perfect for hosting your closest friends and family while keeping that same mix of modern details mixed with vintage and rustic decorations.
