When it comes to making your wedding day feel like you, no couple exemplifies that more than Amber and Brett’s backyard wedding near Springfield Illinois. These two created a wedding day that was simple and wholly true to them, exactly how they imagined it! It took a little bit to get to this point though as Amber had nearly given up on dating apps before meeting Brett on her last attempt. He had to cut their initial date short due to an early bedtime, luckily there was a follow-up date the next week for sushi and the two haven’t looked back since!

Keeping It Simple

Above all else Amber and Brett wanted to keep their wedding day simple. They didn’t want to stress out and worry about the details, they instead wanted to keep things short and sweet which is what we did. They chose to have a backyard wedding in the Springfield area which also had a horse barn on the property. With the weather being on the cooler side we decided to have their entire wedding day festivities take place in the barn. Before their ceremony began Amber and Brett had a bit of time for some portraits around the property including some with Brett’s daughter Amber who is SO cute! I had so much fun taking portraits of the three of them together.

Once their guests had arrived it was time to head into the barn for their ceremony and “reception.” I say “reception” as it wasn’t a reception in the traditional sense, but more so Amber, Brett, and their guests mingling and chatting after their ceremony. Speaking of which, their ceremony was kept short and sweet, only lasting about 3 minutes! This layout for their backyard wedding day near Springfield allowed Brett and Amber to be in their PJ’s and relaxing by 8pm, exactly how they wanted!

As you can see from Amber and Brett’s backyard wedding in the Springfield area, you don’t have to go the standard route for your wedding day. Your wedding day is a celebration of you and your love for one another after all.
