So backyard weddings, especially in Springfield Illinois and the surrounding areas, have been on the rise in popularity and I am SO here for it! A backyard wedding is such an intimate and personal way to celebrate your marriage to the love of your life. There’s such a wide array of fun, unique, and creative ways to make your backyard wedding celebrations feel like pure magic. To give you an idea of what I mean we’re going to go over 5 of my favorite ways to bring your backyard wedding to the next level!
1. ALL of the String Lights
When it comes to lighting for your backyard wedding in Springfield it honestly helps to be over-prepared! While you can and probably should order through a rental company the lights provided are often not enough to really bring that level of magic to your wedding festivities. The more lights you have the better, which is why I recommend these solar powered string lights for your wedding day! Make sure you charge them the day BEFORE your wedding so that they are ready to go for your big day. These really add to the experience though, and as a bonus are a great way to liven up your backyard even after the day of your wedding!
2. A Bubble Machine
What’s a more fun decoration than a bubble machine? Not much honestly! Having a bubble machine gives your backyard wedding in Springfield a fun and bubbly, pun intended, feel to it. This bubble machine is a great affordable option. Just like the lights, the more bubbles you have the merrier, so if you have the budget for it get a few of these machines to really liven up your wedding experience. And while they’re great for décor and giving your wedding a lively feel to it, they’re also exceptional for entertaining all the kiddos that will be present!
3. Eco-Friendly Plates
Make sure your backyard wedding in Springfield is both stylish AND eco-friendly! While these might not have the same level of visual intrigue as the bubble machine or string lights, they are just as important. Ditch the stereotypical BBQ plates for either these palm leaf or sal leaf plates. While the main draw is that these plates are biodegradable and compostable so they’re MUCH better for the environment, they also have a more unique style to them than the traditional BBQ plates.
4. Your Vendor Team
Yes, it’s true, backyard weddings still need vendors! Trust me this is a good thing though. Having vendors for your wedding can help bring your vision for your wedding to life and elevate your wedding experience to that next level. 5. Embrace The Backyard!
There are some things you can only experience during a backyard wedding in Springfield, so lean into those! Bust out the yard games for your guests, like corn hole, giant jenga, or ladder ball. Light up the fire pit for the evening for some smores and snacks by the fire. Bring out some mason jars for the kids to catch lightning bugs in. A backyard wedding gives you so much flexibility, use that to your advantage! You can create any experience you want for your wedding day, as you should!
