Their Intimate Wedding Ceremony at the Sangamon County Courthouse

Ambrielle and Alex planned out their day so that all of their loved ones could be there for their wedding ceremony. The two then broke off from the group and spent time exploring the Illinois State Capitol and taking portraits before celebrating with loved ones.

Setting up your appointment for your wedding ceremony is fairly simple! Here are the steps these two took to elope at the Sangamon County Courthouse:

1. Apply & Obtain Your Marriage License
2. Choose Your Date (you must schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks in advance!)
3. Booking Your Vendors & Plan Your Photo Locations
4. Invite Your Loved Ones (optional!)
5. Show up early
6. Celebrate!

Wedding Portraits at the State Capitol Building

Following their wedding ceremony at the Sangamon County Courthouse, we headed over to the capitol building! I love taking portraits immediately following a wedding ceremony as it gives the couple some time to celebrate just the two of them.

Something that I can’t emphasize enough about the Capitol Building for wedding portraits are the endless backdrops. The inside of the building is of course beautiful, but the outside is also just as stunning!

I will never get over this spring bouquet Ambrielle carried around on her wedding day!

The Illinois State Capitol Building in STUNNING and there are so many different places to explore and take portraits. The historic building has so many beautiful and romantic touches. If you’re planning on eloping in Springfield I always suggest this building as one of the options for your wedding portraits.
