I love stories. IG captions don’t quite allow me to share with you all the beautiful details that go into my couples and our time together.
The Blog is the place to learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
Dani and Ben shared the most incredible wedding day experience with an intimate ceremony at the Sangamon County Courthouse followed by their reception at Arlingtons in Springfield. Their wedding day is just as incredible and special as their love story and I CANNOT wait to share it all with you!
Dani and Ben’s wedding day is a whole 34 YEARS in the making, yes you read that right. They met in high school drama club, and while Dani fell in love with Ben and his James Dean leather jacket vibes she moved away shortly into high school and the two lost touch. Fast forward 27 years and on a whim Ben searched Dani up on Facebook where the two reconnected and rekindled their relationship. I’m so lucky to not only have met these two beautiful souls, but also to have the chance to document their intimate wedding day festivities at Sangamon County Courthouse and Arlingtons.
Originally Dani and Ben were planning for a summer wedding, but with Dani’s eldest daughter deploying overseas next month they chose to have an intimate courthouse wedding in order to celebrate the day with their whole family present. The two shared a first look in the Illinois Capitol Building before making their way to the Sangamon County Courthouse for their ceremony. Dani wore an stunning vintage dress which perfectly fit her vibe, while Ben wore a kilt to honor his Scottish heritage. Their ceremony was SO emotional and just an incredibly beautiful experience all around. Once the two were officially newlyweds it was time to take their wedding celebrations over to Arlingtons for the reception!
Before they arrived at Arlingtons though, Dani, Ben and I snuck away to give them a moment alone together as newlyweds and take some portraits We stopped by the historic Union Station for photos— Dani specifically loved the green doors and ironwork on the outside of the building.
To top off their wedding day Dani and Ben and their closest friends and family all got together at Arlingtons to celebrate together. You can tell how much love these two share, not only with one another but also with the people in their lives. The celebrations were that of joy and elation and it’s easy to see why. Dani and Ben share a love for one another that is so beautiful and pure, it’s impossible to not be filled with happiness when you’re with these two.
I’m so so SO glad that I was able to photograph Dani and Ben’s wedding day at both the Sangamon County Courthouse and Arlingtons. Dani told me that the wedding and Ben were definitely worth the 34 year wait, and I couldn’t agree more!
