Hotel Engagement Photos at Hotel Royer || Urbana, IL

Emma & Logan reached out to me wanting moody vibes with some fun architecture, but wasn’t sure where to go for photos. Her inspo board had a lot of interior bar shots, and so I knew where to take them!
We met up at Hotel Royer in downtown Urbana, IL. It’s a newly renovated hotel, appart of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. It’s absolutely stunning in real life.
As a central Illinois wedding & couples photographer, I photograph in Champaign-Urbana a LOT. The vintage Virginia Theater is another gorgeous spot for photos.
This was not my first time at Hotel Royer. We put together a styled shoot this past winter in Centennial Hall.
For E&L’s session we hung out in the lobby & restaurant area for the majorty of their photos.
There are so many little spots for photos at this hotel!
It was so cool that both Emma AND Logan chose to wear engagement rings. Traditional it’s just one person – but like, you both love each other when you’re engaged yes??? So hell yeah, show off you’re in love with your person by wearing a ring you like.
For engagement sessions, it’s important for me to get individual pictures of my clients. Why? To give them their own little fun headshot moment, while also showing off their personality.
Of course we had to get a little champagne to celebrate their engagement!!
A little flash, a little moodiness, ugh it all came together so well.
Hotel engagement photos have been suuuuper popular online- it was super cool to bring E&L’s vision to life while making it about them, and using Hotel Royer as a beautiful backdrop.
