Fall Couples Photos at the Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Springfield | Olivia + Camden
[THE BLOG]
Heyoo, I'm Rachael (she/her)! I'm a Wedding + Elopement Photographer based in Illinois, helping tell love stories in Chicago, St Louis, and beyond. I hope you'll find some inspiration and helpful resources on this blog, whether or not you choose me to be a part of your big day.
Olivia and Camden’s couples session is one that I am SO excited to finally be sharing here on the blog! These two met one another at a Halloween event at their local bar, something they both describe as a once in a lifetime chance as that isn’t really a typical outing for either of them. Fate had other plans though, and after a year of dating the two decided to have their photos taken to celebrate the anniversary! I’m so happy that these two chose me to document this special milestone in their relationship, and I CANNOT wait to share the highlights from their couples photos in Springfield!
Their Fall Couples Session in Springfield, Illinois
The moody fall vibes were in FULL effect for Olivia and Camden’s couples session. The light rain and overcast we had for the day, and the personalized playlist for their session that featured d4vd, The Weeknd, SZA, Cigarettes after Sex and others, set the scene perfectly for their session. Creating a custom playlist is something I love to do for my couples, as I mentioned in this article looking at my wedding packages. There’s nothing like a bit of your favorite tunes to really set the tone and mood for the session, and Olivia and Camden’s couples photos in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens of Springfield are the perfect example!
We took our time in the Memorial Gardens, taking in the scenery and enjoying the beautiful fall colors that really pop on gloomy days like this. Even with the rain throughout the day, Olivia and Camden were so down for anything! From a makeout session in the rain, to riding around with the top down in their convertible on Lindsay Bridge, everything was fair game. As I’ve talked about on the blog previously, the rain doesn’t have to be a deal breaker for your photos, sometimes it can be the piece that really brings your photos to the next level!
Making Their Photos Personal to Them
Speaking of bringing your photos to the next level, something I adore about Olivia and Camden’s couples session in Springfield is just how personal they wanted it to be to their love story! When they initially inquired with me Olivia mentioned how she wanted their love to be documented while surrounded by the natural beauty of fall, the season they met one another. The two love to go on nature walks together, so the Lincoln Memorial Gardens were the perfect spot. Another love of theirs is going out on night drives together, so incorporating Camden’s new car was also a must for the session. It’s simple touches like this that can make your session and your photos all the more impactful, meaningful, and personal to you and I am ALL for it!
I’m still obsessing over Olivia and Camden’s couples photos at the Lincoln memorial Gardens in Springfield! These two have such an amazing love for one another, and the sweetest love story to boot, and I’m so happy they chose me to document that love. Rachael Marie Photography values inclusivity and will never discriminate against your gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, body type, or abilities. You are wonderful, beautiful, and loved here.
I'll give you direction when you need it and space when you don't. I believe the best photos aren't always the ones where everyone is looking at the camera.
Sometimes they're the ones where your best friend is crying. Your grandma is laughing. Your partner is looking at you when you aren't paying attention. And someone is absolutely losing their mind on the dance floor.
Those are the photos I want to make.
I'm Rachael (she/her) by the way.
For the people who would rather be living the moment than posing for it.
Whether you have 10 or 100 folks witnessing your vows, are planning the big shebang or a small backyard party, or just want to celebrate getting through life with your best friend—I'd be thrilled to document it for you.
