I’ve been to a lot of places around central Illinois for engagement sessions, but never a flower farm!! Ginny & Elisha and I hung out at Delight Flower Farm outside of Urbana, IL for their summer engagement photos. and wow it was perfect.
When to take flower farm engagement photos
Florals are one of my favorite things ever!! When planning your nature centered engagement session, it’s important to think about what will be in bloom during the time of year you want your photos.
Early spring (April)
- Daffodils
- Tulips
- Crocus
- Bluebells
- Redbud trees
Spring into Summer (May into June)
- Peonies (really only May tbh)
- Irises
- Roses
- Lilacs
- Dogwood trees
Summer!!
- Cosmos
- Zinnias
- Sunflowers

- Queen Anne’s lace

- Coneflowers
- Marigolds
Ginny & Elisha got engaged in Iceland in the winter!! So their proposal photos were a little more cooler toned and colder feeling. They wanted their engagement photos to feel warm & full of florals.
After chatting with Delight Flower Farm, we knew this was the perfect flower farm for engagement photos.
Love a motion blurr moment, it kind of feels like a movie.
Delight Flower Farm for photos
Located outside of Champaign, IL. Deligth Flower Farm is absolutely gorgeous!!! Truly a delight haha.
Not only it is absolutely beautiful— it’s women owned, and the florals are grown organically!
You can book a tour of the gardens, attend a bunch of different art + nature workshops, and pick up florals & other goods in the farm stand throughout the week.
Ugh the hydrangeas were stunning!
We had an amazing time wondering around the gardens together for their photos.
The peonies were long gone in July but the cosmos & zinnias were going strong!!
G&E picked up a bouquet of flowers from the farm stand before their session. It was the perfect touch for photos, and was a great little treat to take home.
