I love stories. IG captions don’t quite allow me to share with you all the beautiful details that go into my couples and our time together.
The Blog is the place to learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
Erin and Blaine’s wedding day was a dream come true for a ton of reasons. From their fun and laid-back demeanor to their yellow and blue color scheme tied together with custom Vans for their reception, everything really felt perfectly in its place for their wedding day. To top it all off though was the name of their wedding venue Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield Illinois. Not only is the space perfect since it shared Erin’s name, but it was also the perfect fit for everything they included on their wedding day.
One of my favorite questions to ask my couples before their wedding day is – “When did you know this was your person?” Erin says there was no big moment when it came to Blaine- It all just flowed easily for her. They never stopped talking and they never wanted to be apart. Everything has always felt comfortable and natural between them. I LOVE getting to know my couples in the months leading up to their wedding day, it makes for such an amazing experience documenting their wedding on the day of.
To start their wedding day off Erin and Blaine got ready separately so as not to see one another prior to their ceremony. They opted not to have a first look which built up a lot of excitement and anticipation for their ceremony later in the day! One of the many draws of their wedding taking place at Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield is that both Erin and Blaine as well as their wedding parties were able to get ready on location. This made things SO easy for them and is something I can’t recommend enough for couples to do when possible at their wedding venue. Before long it was time for their ceremony, but first we had time for a quick first look with Erin and her father which was SO sweet!
Erin and Blaine kept their wedding ceremony decorations to a minimum keeping the ceremony itself as the main focus. With some simple florals in their wedding colors as the only décor in the room, it was a ceremony that felt so personal and intimate. A good amount of happy tears were shed throughout the ceremony, you could really feel just how happy everyone was to be there celebrating their love! After the ceremony, we had time for some family portraits before heading outside of Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield for some wedding party photos.
After taking portraits with their wedding party Erin and Blaine snuck away during cocktail hour to change into their custom Vans that I mentioned earlier. I love personal touches like these for any wedding day and theirs was especially great as it meant they were SO comfortable for the rest of their festivities. Their wedding reception at Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield was a blast from start to finish, complete with first dances, great food, speeches from loved ones, and of course a TON of dancing. We had a little time in the middle to sneak away for some newlywed sunset portraits before returning so Erin and Blaine could dance the night away with all of their guests.
The most bittersweet part of their wedding day at Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield was hugging everyone goodbye at the end of the night. I’m overjoyed that I was able to spend Erin and Blaine’s wedding day with them at Erin’s Pavilion in Springfield and document these moments for them to look back on for years to come. Erin and Blaine are such sweet and kind humans and I’m so happy to have been chosen to be their wedding photographer!
