I love stories. IG captions don’t quite allow me to share with you all the beautiful details that go into my couples and our time together.
The Blog is the place to learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
One of the largest factors in determining the look, feel, and vibe of your wedding day is of course your wedding venue! Picture in your mind how different a wedding in a forest compares to one in a modern banquet hall for example. Even with the same wedding vendors, colors, and the same guest count, these two weddings would have a completely different feel to them!
With that in mind, we’re here to take a look at two of my favorite venue styles that have a similar vibe to them.
So without further ado, here are 9 of my favorite mansion and estate wedding venues in Illinois!
Kicking things off is the always incredible Vrooman Mansion. Found in the heart of Boomington, Illinois, the Vrooman Mansion is a wonderful wedding venue option for small to medium sized weddings. The historic interior of the mansion provides couples with a stunning, classic setting for their wedding day. Meanwhile, the exterior of the mansion is equally as beautiful and is the perfect space for couples looking for a garden party vibe for their day.
With excellent service, options for you and your guests to stay on location, getting ready spaces, and a whole lot more, the Vrooman Mansion is the whole package and a phenomenal option for a wedding venue in Central Illinois!

Allerton Mansion’s inclusion on this list should come as a surprise to nobody as it’s not only a favorite wedding venue of mine, but also a favorite for photos in general! The mansion itself has a capacity of 80 guests, while some of their outdoor spaces can host hundreds. This means that if you want you can have a more intimate indoor ceremony, followed by a massive outdoor celebration with all of your favorite people!
Whether you choose to have a large or small celebration, Allerton Mansion is an amazing option for your wedding day. The pristine and scenic outdoor gardens are equally as beautiful as the mansion’s historic interior, giving you an all around breathtaking setting for your day!
Another exceptionally gorgeous mansion that makes for a beautiful wedding venue is Three Pines of Petersburg, Illinois. This wonderfully well kept mansion specializes in intimate celebrations, though they can make outdoor celebrations of up to 100 guests work with the rental of a tent and portable restrooms. The mansion, like those listed above, is beautiful both inside and out.
The interior has been wonderfully maintained to keep its historic, dignified style intact, meanwhile the exterior feels like a beautiful oasis for you and your loved ones to celebrate in privacy. Not to mention the rustic barn which acts as the perfect covered reception space. I seriously cannot recommend this venue enough! Check out Seth & Kelly’s gorgeous wedding at Three Pines here.
Springfield, Illinois’ own Pasfield House is the next mansion wedding venue on my list! This stunning mansion was built in the late 1800’s and today stands as Springfield’s own unique boutique hotel AND wedding venue.
The venue is SO much more than its distinct style, though that is truly wonderful. In addition to the striking classical beauty of The Pasfield House, the venue also does THE most to ensure that their couples receive the best possible experience from the moment they inquire. From their fair pricing structure and package options, to the amount of included amenities and assistance they provide, The Pasfield House is the whole package!
The next wedding venue on the list is the Jacob Henry Mansion which sits in the heart of Joliet, Illinois. Offering couples an array of indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from, the Jacob Henry Mansion is an ideal venue option for couples looking for a larger celebration on their wedding day.
Intimate weddings here are still wonderful, but where the venue really shines is through their spacious lawn and gardens and the regal indoor ballroom. With multiple location options, day of assistance, and a ton of other amenities, Jacob Henry Mansion is an easy choice and a must include on this list!
This Frank Lloyd Wright designed estate is the next wedding venue on my list. Found on the shores of the Kanakee River, this house was Wright’s first Prairie design and greatly influenced the style of home architecture in the 1900’s.
If you’ve never experienced a Frank Lloyd Wright house you are seriously missing out, and if you have you can probably understand what makes celebrating a wedding at one so appealing! Surrounding yourself with Wright’s breathtaking architecture gives you a setting for a wedding day like none other. While not as inclusive as other venues on the list in terms of amenities, the beauty and uniqueness of the B Harley Bradley House still makes it worth considering for couples looking for a distinct style for their day!
On the northern border of Illinois and Wisconsin is the next gorgeous wedding venue on my list, The Lehmann Mansion! This stunning and historic space has been renovated to provide a classic feel with all the best modern amenities.
Their all season tent provides the perfect space for an epic wedding reception, and they also offer both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces to choose from. The mansion also serves as the perfect backdrop for portraits, both inside and out. The Lehmann Mansion really is an all inclusive wedding venue, and I absolutely adore it!
The next wedding venue on my list can be found in the suburbs of Chicago, and is the incredible Mayslake Peabody Estate! This venue specializes in smaller, more intimate celebrations, though they are still able to host larger gatherings in their outdoor space.
The classical, historic feel of the estate provides a phenomenal atmosphere for your wedding, but you’ll have to be prepared to handle a bit more of the planning and preparation compared to other venues. If that’s your thing though this is a must check out wedding venue for your day!
The final wedding venue on our list is none other than Pear Tree Estate, which sits just north of Champaign, Illinois. A considerably more modern venue than those that came before it on this list, Pear Tree Estate earned its spot on this list for a number of reasons!
For starters, the venue is immaculate and stylish, so much so that you can keep things simple if you want in terms of décor. If you’d like to go all out with your wedding style though you’re more than welcome to, and the venue will actually help you do so! The staff here is incredibly talented, and they prioritize bringing their couples unique vision for their wedding day to life. The grounds also provide tons of opportunities for portrait photos, and there are a ton of different settings to choose from for your ceremony and reception!
Alright I know I said this blog was about my favorite mansion and estate wedding venues in Illinois, BUT this one in St Louis is just too incredible not to include! The Larimore is found on the northern end of St Louis, and is a wonderfully dreamy space for a wedding day.
The incredibly scenic grounds give your wedding day a whimsical and romantic setting, meanwhile the interior spaces offer a beautiful blank slate to make your own for your celebration. I’m truly jealous that this venue isn’t actually a part of Illinois, but thankfully it’s only a short drive over the border!
Those are my favorite mansion and estate wedding venues in Illinois (and Missouri!) Couples looking to celebrate their wedding in Illinois are truly spoiled with amazing options, many of which I didn’t even get to cover here.
