Sasha + Chris’s suburb brunch reception was filled with everything a wedding celebration should be. Happiness, love, lawn games, and an epic donut wall. By the time their wedding day came around, these two had already been married for 8 months! They eloped in Maine a few months prior but knew they wanted to have their friends and family gathered together for a low-key brunch reception, which they hosted at Danada House in Wheaton Illinois.
About Sasha and Chris
Well before their official wedding and the following brunch reception, Sasha + Chris actually met on Bumble over 3 prior! They had both had some weird experiences via the dating platform, so they were a little hesitant when it came to entering a new relationship. For their first date though they met up at a local brewery, where they ended up shutting down the bar just talking that night! From that moment on they knew this was it. They now spend their days playing Pokémon Go together, taking long walks, making homemade pizzas, playing board games and watching ALL the TV shows together.
About Their Suburban Brunch Wedding
When Sasha sent her inquiry and wrote that they were having a brunch wedding reception, I was OVER THE MOON with excitement. Together they thought through every detail that went into their wedding day. Their rings were custom-made, they had coffee and donuts and lawn games, and they spent their day catching up with friends and family and spending time with one another. It felt like an English garden party and I loved every second of it.
The Little Details
Chris + Sasha were beyond thoughtful when putting their brunch reception together to celebrate their wedding. They knew they wanted a relaxing day, and an opportunity to see all of the people they love the most interacting with one another, getting to know each other and just having the best time all together. Chris made a little speech during brunch and said to their guests:
“All of you are here today because you mean so much to us, and since our favorite people are in the room together, we would love for you to meet each other. Enjoy conversation together, go play games, and get to know the awesome, kind, amazing people around you.”
Closing Out the Day
After they said goodbye to their guests, Sasha + Chris wandered back into their reception space where their musician David Wilner was still set up. To close out the wedding day, David actually serenaded the married couple, which was the perfect way to close out their brunch reception.
