Central Illinois Wedding Venue Feature: Venue 1929

Once a car showroom, now a show-stopper of a wedding venue—Venue 1929 has serious glow-up energy.

It’s that time again where I get to talk about one of my favorite wedding venues in Central Illinois and everything that I adore about it.

Today’s venue, Venue 1929, is one that’s close to home as not only have I been lucky enough to document some breathtaking weddings and proposals here, but it’s also right in the heart of Downtown Springfield! There’s more to love than just the incredible location though, so let’s get into the details of what makes Venue 1929 such a phenomenal space for hosting your wedding!

What Makes Venue 1929 Special

Started in 2018 by a mother and daughter team, Venue 1929 has been growing and progressing year after year, becoming a staple wedding venue in Springfield.

The atmosphere, the location, the historic feel, the blank slate appeal, it all comes together so beautifully to allow couples to celebrate their wedding day the way THEY want to!

The Stunning Historic Space

One of the most apparent draws of Venue 1929 as a space to host your wedding day is the beautiful architecture of the historic building.

The classic brick exterior, carved stone fireplace, exposed wood, and mezzanine balcony all give the space a vintage feel and a TON of character. It’s a wholly unique space, and a perfect venue for intimate weddings and larger celebrations alike thanks to the 150 guest capacity.

Venue 1929 is an amazing setting for both the ceremony and reception for your wedding day, and the wonderful architecture also gives you PLENTY of backdrop options for portrait photos as well!

The Ability to Make it Your Own

Another area where Venue 1929 excels is in the blank slate appeal it has for couples that are looking to make their wedding feel unique to them.

The architecture and character of the space can definitely be enough to carry the look of your wedding day on their own, but there is plenty of room to make the space come to life with your unique vision.

Whether that’s through an array of floral displays, rented décor to elevate the space, or simple touches to give the space a bit more of your personality, Venue 1929 gives you the freedom to do what you want so that you can enjoy your wedding to the fullest!

A Prime Location in Downtown Springfield

As I mentioned earlier in the article, Venue 1929 is in the heart of Downtown Springfield, which makes it an excellent option for you and your guests to attend.

There’s an abundance of street parking around the venue, and 3 large parking lots nearby making travel logistics simple to plan for. The location also gives you and your guests easy access to Springfield’s many hotels, Airbnbs, and the vibrant night life if you’re looking to keep the party going after your reception! 

One thing to note is that there are no getting ready spaces at Venue 1929, so you’ll have to book a space to get ready in if you and your family don’t live in Springfield.

Thankfully many of the hotels and Airbnbs above make for great options in this area.

A Variety of Wedding Package Options with Included Amenities

If you’re worried about having enough time to setup and prepare for your wedding day, Venue 1929 has you covered! Here they offer an array of package options to provide couples with an experience that fits their unique vision and priorities.

You can even book reception packages that include up to 3 days of access to the venue, giving you plenty of time to decorate and rehearse ensuring everything is EXACTLY how you want it for your day!

As an added benefit, they also offer a discounted rate for couples looking to have a weekday wedding!

Preferred Catering List

The last thing I want to mention about Venue 1929 is their preferred catering list. Here at Venue 1929 they give you a LOT of creative freedom with how you put your wedding day together, the only real restrictions they have in place is with their preferred caterers list.

That being said, it IS a pretty expansive list with 10 options at the time of writing, so there’s still plenty of room to choose the right caterer for you!

As a note, Venue 1929 also handles everything when it comes to beverages and bar service.
