Vintage Inspired Engagement Session in Central Illinois | Jamie + Manny

Jamie and Manny’s spooky and untraditional Central Illinois engagement session from last fall was so everything that they wanted and more.  When Manny and Jamie reached out to me about their ideas for their vintage inspired engagement sessions, I was SO excited.  They had a VISION for their session, and they fully went for it. I’m so happy to report that it turned out perfectly and can’t wait to show you all the highlights from their session!

Vintage Spooky Vibes

For their vintage inspired engagement session in Central Illinois, Jamie and Manny wanted to channel some spooky vibes while still having some classic imagery.  I channeled my inner Tim Burton for this session and wanted to make sure I was working with all of the resources we had around us.  Lighting, backdrop, props, and décor all played major parts in their engagement session.

With their engagement session attire and the props they wanted to use throughout the session, I knew we could use a simpler backdrop for their session.  We went to one of the local forests with autumn leaves throughout it which ended up being the perfect space for their session.  Jamie and Manny both wore super unique vintage outfits and had the coolest spooky masks to use throughout their session. The simple backdrop of the forest combined with their vintage inspired style and props had their session feeling like something straight out of a classic horror movie.

While Jamie and Manny’s masks and the general feel they were going for with their engagement photos are both pretty creepy, these two are some of THE coolest and sweetest people I’ve been able to work with. Having a vintage inspired engagement session like theirs where I’m able to take inspiration from their creativity and feed off it was honestly incredible. It made their session so unique and fun from start to finish. One of the best things a couple can do for their engagement session is make it true to them and their interests, Jamie and Manny went above and beyond in this regard and the results really speak for themselves!

Jamie Manny and I had so much fun with their vintage inspired spooky engagement session. When these two reached out to me initially and asked if I’d be down for ‘something a little different’ for an engagement session there was no way I could say no! I’m so impressed with what these two created and SO happy I was able to document it with them.
