Willow tree? Check. Sunset? Check. A whole lot of love and laughter? Double check.
Skyler and Sarah’s engagement session, where do I even begin?!
These two beautiful souls booked me to document their engagement session in Springfield’s own Centennial Park, a go to favorite spot of mine for angelic sunset photos like these.
The blanket set up, the sunshine, their personalized playlist, the vibes between these two, it was such an unforgettable evening. I am so excited to share here on the blog!
Engagement Photos in Springfield’s Centennial Park
I was ecstatic for Skyler and Sarah’s engagement session well before the three of us arrived at Centennial Park in Springfield! The forecast for the day was looking perfect for the moody picnic vibes that we were hoping for, and let me tell you the sun did notttt disappoint!
We were treated to a beautifully ethereal glow, a glow that was so fitting for the radiant connection that Skyler and Sarah share with one another!
Throughout our session these two were having THE best time (as was I to be fair). Every moment felt special, an authentic celebration of them and their love for each other!
Prior to the start of their engagement session, Skyler and Sarah both confided in me that they weren’t the biggest fans of being in front of the camera.
Lucky for them I’ve got more than a few tricks up my sleeves that I’ve acquired over my years of documenting engagement photos like theirs!
I knew the three of us would have a phenomenal time and that their photos would encapsulate their love perfectly, but even so it was still amazing to get a text from Skyler afterwards thanking me for helping them feel so comfortable in front of the camera!
Planning Your Engagement Session
As clearly shown by Skyler and Sarah, this comfort in front of the camera is totally possible even if getting your photos taken isn’t really your thing!
There’s a lot that you can do to help your engagement session feel more fun and authentic to you so that you can truly enjoy the moment.
From the choice of location, to the activity you do, and even something as simple as listening to some music during your session, there’s a lot you can do to set yourself up for success.
My favorite pre-planning task? I create a custom playlist for each of my engagement sessions! Skyler and Sarah’s was a mix of SZA, Suki Waterhouse, Noah Kahan, & Chappell Roan, a fitting soundtrack for their fun and dreamy session. It vibed sooooo well.
Choosing Centennial Park was another factor that really helped as Skyler and Sarah were able to lose themselves in the beauty of one of Springfield’s best spots for engagement photos!
I’m so happy to have been a part of Skyler and Sarah’s LGBTQ+ engagement session in Springfield’s Centennial Park!
A huge congratulations to these two, and I can’t wait for them to get the chance to celebrate their elopement this August amidst the Colorado wildflowers!
