I love stories. IG captions don’t quite allow me to share with you all the beautiful details that go into my couples and our time together.
The Blog is the place to learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
Retro 70’s aesthetic? Check. Classic Cadillac to pose with for their portraits? Check. A disco themed wedding reception? Also check! Lexi and Alex’s wedding day at the Clayville Historic Site this past fall was a one of a kind day that I’m SO glad to have been a part of! You may recognize these two from their engagement session that I covered recently, and if you haven’t checked that out yet you should. I dive deeper into how these two met and believe me these two have a wonderful love story! Today though we’re looking at their vintage inspired wedding though which is perfect for these two. With their shared love of thrifting, their vinyl collection, and Alex’s hobby of taking film photos, they couldn’t have possibly come up with a more fitting day for their wedding celebration!
Lexi and Alex’s wedding day began with a first look between the two. These two share an incredible bond with one another, and following the first look proceeded to talk with one another for the entirety of their couples portraits which was SO sweet! Hearing their excitement for the day and the feelings of love and adoration for one another on this day was the perfect way to get the wedding festivities underway. Once we had taken some portraits both Lexi and Alex made their way inside the Clayville Historic Site while guests of their wedding began to arrive. Once the guests were seated it was time to get the show on the road!
The two lucked out with some gorgeous September weather for their wedding day, with only a few clouds in the sky for their outdoor ceremony. The grounds of the Clayville Historic Site are perfect for a wedding ceremony, calm, quiet, and absolutely stunning. The two shared their vows with one another as well as those in attendance and before long were officially pronounced husband and wife! After their ceremony we had some time for portraits prior to their ceremony starting. This included family, wedding parties, and of course couples portraits. The couple’s portraits were especially fun and continued the retro theme for the day as we were able to include Alex’s classic Cadillac that he’s been working on! Whether they’re big or small, it’s details like this that really tie a wedding day together and make it feel like it was made for you!
Lexi and Alex’s retro theme of their wedding day really shined through during their reception at the Clayville Historic Site! Complete with colorful decorations, an abundance of disco balls, and vinyl used as table numbers and decorations, the vibes were immaculate. They even had a phone recorder for their guests to leave them messages, which Lexi made herself! They couldn’t have had a better space to celebrate their wedding. The kiddos were able to play outside while the adults danced and celebrated indoors making it SO fun for everyone that was there! Of course with it being a disco themed wedding Lexi, Alex, and their guests were able to dance the night away in style!
If there’s one thing you take away from Lexi and Alex’s wedding at the Clayville Historic Site I hope that you feel inspired. These two created such an incredible and lovely wedding day, one that fits who they are as a couple perfectly! It’s so cool to see a couple go above and beyond to really make their wedding day their own, and the results truly speak for themselves!
