I love stories. IG captions don’t quite allow me to share with you all the beautiful details that go into my couples and our time together.
The Blog is the place to learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
I met Megan and Ethan back in 2021 months before their wedding at the Destihl Brewery in Normal Illinois for their engagement session! Their engagement session was so. freaking. Fun. We danced, sang, and laughed our butts off the entire time. These two are some of the most fun and light-hearted people, so to say I was looking forward to their wedding day would be an understatement.
Megan and Ethan started their wedding at Destihl Brewery separately, getting ready with their respective co-ed wedding parties which was SO much fun for the two of them. For their wedding florals, Ethan actually made paper flowers for their day while binge-watching the Avatar TV series, which is such a fun and cool detail of their wedding day!
Once ready we made our way to the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts Concert Hall for their first look. Megan and Ethan were so excited to see one another, I couldn’t get over the looks on their faces seeing one another for the first time all dressed up for their wedding day. Ethan almost made me tear up his reaction was so sweet. After taking a moment alone together they walked outside of the auditorium and were greeted by their family and closest friends who cheered them on and gave out TONS of hugs while we took formal photos.
For their wedding ceremony and reception Megan and Ethan chose Destihl Brewery in Normal, Illinois as their venue and they couldn’t have made a better choice. The venue was the perfect space and atmosphere for their day, and Ethan actually used to work there which made it even more personal. Their ceremony was full of intention and everything they had dreamed of. Ethan’s sister was their officiant and the two read personal vows to one another during the ceremony. The ceremony was spot-on perfect, and as a final touch, Ethan has their Brass Quartet play Rainbow Connection for their exit, which was a surprise he was BARELY able to keep secret. I was able to capture Megan’s moment of realization as they exited which is one of my absolute favorite moments from their day as her face LIT up with so much joy!
We had some time after their ceremony for some newlywed portraits before their wedding reception began, so we took advantage of the time and explored Destihl Brewery a bit together. Ethan and Megan both changed into some Vans shoes for some added comfort as we explored the inside and outside of the brewery. It was a rainy day but we were still able to get some portraits outside of the brewery before heading in for their reception. Though they read vows during their ceremony, they saved longer, more private vows to read to one another during their portrait session which was such a special moment to be a part of. There was so much happiness and celebration all throughout their reception, both from Megan and Ethan as well as their guests.
Megan and Ethan’s wedding at the Destihl Brewery is easily one of my favorite weddings I’ve had the chance to photograph. Not only was the wedding itself beautiful but so are these amazing people and I’m so happy I was able to be a part of their day! For more stories like theirs head on over to my blog page!
