I love stories. The Blog full of them. Here is where you learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
I am so so SO excited to share Sasha and Meg’s ethereal engagement session here on the blog today! These two have such a sweet, kind, joyous love for one another, one that I am honored to have had the opportunity to document for these two amazing souls. I legit cannot wait for their wedding day, but first it’s time to take a little look back through their engagement photos at the magical Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago!
I wanted to take a quick moment before looking at Sasha and Meg’s engagement session at the Garfield Park Conservatory to talk a bit about these two wonderful people and what brought them here today. These two met through a dating app back in the summer of 2021 and haven’t looked back since. Well, technically they met on Tinder in the spring of 2021, but Meg actually ghosted Sasha until they re-matched on a second app in the summer (something Sasha loves to remind Meg of!)
It was a legitimate moment of love at first sight for Meg though, as she practically decided on their first date that they’d get married. The two got pretty serious in their relationship quickly, moving in together in 2022 and Meg considering popping the question to Sasha in 2023. Sasha wasn’t quite ready at the time, so Meg waited until one summer day in 2024 where Sasha asked “Why haven’t you proposed to me yet?” to which Meg said “You haven’t let me??”
After 8 long, sleepless weeks of planning later, Meg had a plan in place and set up a beautiful proposal in Winnemac Park. After Sasha excitedly answered yes, the two celebrated their engagement with a party of their closest friends in the park that same day. It was the perfect way to start their engagement story, and soon enough the two were scheduling with me to document their engagement photos at the Garfield Park Conservatory!
I always love engagement sessions, as there are so many fun and unique ways to use them to tell the couples’ love story. Sasha and Meg’s engagement photos at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago are a prime example of this. The location has a fun, lighthearted air to it thanks to the natural beauty, while also tying back to many of the dates these two shared where they’d take in the glory of nature together.
Matching the ethereal, garden vibes of the conservatory perfectly were Sasha and Meg’s dresses found through Nuuly. These stunning floral patterned dresses fit SO perfectly into the style of the session, as well as the mood board Sasha, Meg, and I created together. Through this collaboration we created a session that was both chic and sensual, exactly what these two were after, and I think the results speak for themselves!
I’m beyond honored that Sasha and Meg chose me to document their LGBTQ+ engagement photos in the Garfield Park Conservatory of Chicago. I seriously cannot wait for their wedding day where these two get to celebrate alongside their favorite people. If you’re looking to have your engagement session at the Garfield Park Conservatory know that there is a permit requirement when it comes to professional photography. If you’re thinking of having me document your session you can send me an inquiry here, and for more Chicago engagement session vibes check out these photos from the Adler Planetarium!
