I love stories. IG captions don’t quite allow me to share with you all the beautiful details that go into my couples and our time together.
The Blog is the place to learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
Emily and Kevin’s engagement session at Washington Park in Springfield Illinois was such a fun way to start off the spring season. Emily, Kevin, and I have been trying to plan this engagement session for SO long, but with us all having crazy schedules, it took us almost a year to find a date that worked for the three of us.
We were SO lucky with the date we ended up choosing. The weather was PERFECT and their session was just in time for the spring blooms to start showing off, filling their engagement session to the brim with springy vibes. We started off their engagement session in Washington Park and then ended their session wandering around downtown Springfield checking out some of my all-time favorite spots.
Starting off their engagement session, I met Emily and Kevin in Washington Park. I love spring sessions at Washington Park in Springfield. Between the green coming back in the grass and the beautiful spring blossoms popping up on the trees, you really can feel the excitement of the season in the air. We walked through Washington Park soaking in the sun and the springtime feels before heading into town for the second half of their Springfield engagement session.
After taking engagement photos in Washington Park, Emily, Kevin and I headed into town to explore downtown Springfield. One of my favorite parts of downtown Springfield is all of the character and history that you can find in the buildings. The antique brick walls, the remnants of old murals, and the years of vine growth help you to feel connected to the stories these buildings hold. Walking around downtown with Emily and Kevin was SO much fun. I was over the moon with excitement when they told me how comfortable they were by the end of their session as that’s something I always want with my couples.
After wandering around downtown Springfield we ended their session behind an auto body shop for photos. You can only really access this space on the weekend when it’s closed and there aren’t any cars parked around it, which is why I LOVE it when I have a weekend opportunity to take my couples to this space. I loved documenting a bit of the love story for these two and I am so excited for everything the future has in store for them!
