I love stories. IG captions don’t quite allow me to share with you all the beautiful details that go into my couples and our time together.
The Blog is the place to learn more about real love stories, real wedding days, and be inspired for your own wedding.
As much as I adore my warm and lively summers, part of me LIVES for the moodier vibes of the fall! This is partly due to my love of Halloween, but it’s also because I get to document moody engagement sessions like Merrian and Ryan’s! Taking their engagement photos at Allerton Park, which by the way is one of my all time favorite locations for sessions like this, felt like pure magic from start to finish.
Check out some of the highlights from their session, as well as some tips on how to find the right style for your engagement photos!
Merrian and Ryan originally met on Tinder, and the connection between them was practically instant. They instantly related due to their love of The Office and the realization that they’re both teachers, and now love to do practically everything together! This celebration of their love has been a LONG time coming too.
Being together for 6 years now, with 4 of those being long distance, they’re now to the point of taking the next step of this journey through life together and I could NOT be happier to be a part of it!
As I mentioned before, the moody vibes for their engagement photos at Allerton Park were on point from the start, both inside and out! Our session began in the library of Allerton Park, and let me just say that I am obsessed with this space.
The towering bookshelves, the soft natural light from the windows, and the warm wood tones made for the ideal space for Merrian and Ryan to showcase their love, and believe me did they CRUSH it!
Our time in the library was classy, moody, and cinematic for a perfect first half of our session.
For the rest of Merrian and Ryan’s engagement photos we headed outside to make use of the stunning natural beauty of Allerton Park.
The fall forest vibes, combined with the more casual and cozy attire they wore (shoutout to Merrian for wearing a sweater she crocheted herself), came together for THE best finale for their engagement session.
Getting a moody vibe for your engagement photos like Merrian and Ryan’s at Allerton Park doesn’t just happen.
There’s a lot of planning, preparation, and decision making that goes into it! So many things affect the look and feel of your session. Everything from the time of day, the season, the location of your session, what you wear, and your photographer’s style all affect the look and feel of your engagement photos.
The good news is that many photographers, myself included, love to help our couples create THE best engagement experience possible!
